This is a famous The Little Red Hen Story. Once upon a time, there was a little red hen who lived on a farm and she kept very busy taking care of her little chicks and bustling around the farm. She lived with her friends the lazy dog, the sleepy cat, and the messy pig. One day the little red hen found some seeds and she said what I should do with these seeds. So she went to ask her friend’s lazy dog, the sleepy cat, and the messy pig “who will help me plant the seeds”. Her friends said no. Not I said the dog. The cat said. No, I said the pig.
The little red hen said I will do it myself. She carefully planted all her seeds and she took care of them and pretty soon wheat started to grow and she knew it was time to harvest the wheat. The little red knew it was going to be a really big job so she went to ask her friends the lazy dog, the sleepy cat, and the messy pig. If they would help her? Not I said the dog, not I said the cat, and not I said the pig. Then I would do it myself said the red hen.
The little red hen harvested all that wheat all by herself. Then she realized that she needed to grind the wheat it was time to grind it into the flour so that she could make bread. She knew that grinding was gonna be a lot of work and she really could use some help so she went and asked her friends who will help me grind the wheat?
Her friend the dog said not i. No, I will not say the cat. I don’t have time said the pig. ok! then I will do it myself. The little red hen grinds the wheat. It took such a long time to grind that wheat into flour. It was time to bake the bread now. She thought for sure her friends might want to help. So she went and asked them if they would help her bake the bread. Who will help me bake the bread? What do you think those friends said obviously not.
So that little red hen made the bread herself. She put it in the oven and pretty soon it started smelling too good. Soon the lazy dog wandered into the kitchen and said what is that delicious smell. The sleepy cat woke up from her nap and smelled that bread and said, what is that delicious smell. Even the messy pig wandered all the way with his messy feet into the kitchen and said what is that delicious smell?
The red hen said doesn’t that bread smell so good. She took it out of the oven and showed it to her friends and she said who will help me eat the bread? Her friend said, I will say the dog, I will too say the cat and I will say the pig. The red hen said, did you help me to plant the seeds? Did you help me to cut the wheat? Did you help to grind the wheat? Did you help to bake the bread? Then the little red hen said, I will eat the bread all by myself. Now the lazy dog, the sleepy cat, and the messy pig said next time the little red hen asked for some help we will help and the little red hen said thank you very much.
